Development Of Your Baby




Second Trimester

  • During the second trimester the baby develops muscles and taste buds.
  • By week 16 the fetus has begun to grow eyebrows, eyelashes, and hair.

  • By the end of the second trimester the baby can hear and recognize its mother's voice.

Third Trimester
  • During the third trimester the fetus sleeps about 90-95% of the day.
  • The baby breathes fluid into its developing lungs to practice inhaling and exhaling.
  • Around week 40 the baby is ready to be born.
