Understanding the unit price of a food can help you to save a lot of money when you're grocery store. If you save only a few cents each trip to the store you will eventually save a whole lot of money. Bag

Unit price is like buying gas by the gallon. When you buy something by the gallon or pound or yard you are paying the unit price.

You can usually find the unit price label on the self below the foods. Comparing foods using the unit price will allow you to find the lower price based on how much you are getting.

Using the unit price you can compare the price of items based on how much you get in the package.
