Fast foods are quick and easy substitutes for cooking at home. Fast foods are very convenient, but they are usually high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt. The extra fats, sugars, and salts in fast food can cause major health problems if a person eats too much.

See our family cookbook for great recipes for you and your family.

Most fast food restaurants have salads and other foods that are healthier than the burgers and fries on the menu. However, it is important to be cautious when ordering fast food. You must be aware of the calories and fat that are in some dressings and other add-ons.

Some fast food companies are offering low-fat and low-calorie foods in addition to the other foods on the menu. These are better choices, but they may still have higher fat and calorie content than foods you cook at home.
