Partners in Prevention (PIP) is dedicated to educating, mentoring, and counseling young adults on the benefits of waiting until marriage to conceive a child to ensure healthy, happy families. PIP employs creative strategies using media campaigns, direct intervention, and public forums. PIP targets young adults aged 20-29 years. 2003 non-marital birth statistics for Virginia show that approximately 60.0% of all non-marital births were to 20-29 year olds and approximately 23.8% were to those aged 15 or less through the age of 19.

Currently, 10 local programs are funded in Partners in Prevention activities within their communities. These local programs represent 19 Virginia counties and cities.
