The Division of Injury and Violence Prevention's Unintentional Injury Prevention Program works to increase the number of state and local agencies, organizations and groups committed to and working on the prevention of leading causes of unintentional injury in high risk communities throughout Virginia. This is accomplished in part through consultation and technical assistance, coordination of community based prevention projects that use best or promising practices and dissemination of proven safety devices such as smoke alarms, child safety seats and bicycle helmets.
