Unintentional Injury Prevention

VIPPThe Division of Injury and Violence Prevention's Unintentional Injury Prevention Program utilizes prevention strategies at both the state and local levels to reach a variety of stakeholder groups and target audiences. These strategies include raising awareness of the scope of the injury problem through sharing of data, information and resources, presentations, trainings and exhibits, and collaborative projects; increasing the number of state and local agencies, organizations and groups committed to and working on injury prevention through consultation and technical assistance, leadership of a state injury planning group, coordination of local prevention projects and dissemination of proven safety devices and partnerships; and policy development. The Unintentional Injury Prevention Program has projects that specifically address child passenger safety, fire and burn prevention and traumatic brain injury prevention.
