  1. 2006 Comprehensive Chronic Disease Data Report

  3. Efforts are under way to alter environments and policies throughout Virginia to make them more walking- and bicycle-friendly as part of a "More Livable Communities" initiative.

  4. Also, a new video is being circulated that briefly describes how to make physical activity part of your daily routine. It's called "Fitting Fitness In". For more information, go to the Publications/Materials section.

  5. Finally, a new area of study called "readiness research" states that people tend to fall into distinct categories of readiness to start a new behavior like being more physically active. The categories are:
