Child Passenger Safety Seat Checks

1Motor vehicle crashes are the number one killer of children. Over eighty percent of children riding in motor vehicles are at risk because they are not restrained properly. Parents and caregivers can receive guidance on how to correctly secure a child in an appropriate child safety seat by using the services offered at a Permanent Fitting Station  or by attending a one day Safety Seat Check Events.

Permanent Fit Stations are set locations across the state with trained personnel that are able to check the installation of child safety seats.

Community Seat Check Events are one day events that occur in various communities across the state with trained personnel that are able to check the installation of child safety seats.

Before selecting either option, parents and caregivers should attempt to install the child safety seat and bring their vehicle and safety seat manuals with them to the check location.  Parents and caregivers should expect proper seat installation to take 20 minutes per safety seat.
