Virginia Injury Community Planning Group

Vision Statement
Our vision for injury prevention is a Virginia where sustainable public and private partnerships create safe environments for all through prevention, education, and advocacy.

Mission Statement
The overall mission of the Virginia Injury Community Planning Group is the ongoing development and evaluation of a comprehensive unintentional injury prevention plan for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The Virginia Injury Community Planning Group (VAICPG) is a statewide planning body that meets to develop the Virginia Injury Prevention Plan through the following:

  • Prioritize target populations at risk for unintentional injury and appropriate interventions for each target population.
  • Identify gaps in unintentional injury prevention services and service delivery systems.
  • Make recommendations to the Virginia Department of Health, its sister agencies and community partners to assist in the delivery of population specific unintentional injury prevention services to support the reduction of unintentional injuries in Virginia communities.
