Virginia Injury Community Planning Group

The Division of Injury and Violence Prevention has been awarded a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to strengthen injury prevention and control programs and activities in Virginia over the next five years.

The Virginia Injury Prevention Planning grant (VIPP) requires DIVP to formalize an injury prevention coalition with partners from academic, nonprofit, state government, private, professional and faith-based organizations dedicated to reducing injury in Virginia. The funds from this grant will also support the identification of statewide prevention activities and resources and the development of a collaborative statewide injury prevention plan to address the leading causes of injury-related hospitalizations and deaths in Virginia. Participation from community based injury prevention providers statewide and state level agencies and organizations involved in injury prevention is highly encouraged.
