Virginia Department of Health's Tobacco Use Control Project Request for Proposals

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS PUBLIC NOTICE Notice is hereby given by the Virginia Department of Health, Division of Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, of its intent to solicit sealed proposals to establish statewide reimbursement contracts for the purchase of the implementation of tobacco use control activities throughout Virginia. Copies of RFP Number 703I093 may be obtained by contacting Connie Hall, Senior Buyer at (804) 864-7539. Proposals will be received until 3:00 P.M., August 26, 2009, at the Virginia Department of Health, Division of Purchasing and General Services, 109 Governor Street, 12th Floor, West Office, Richmond, Virginia 23219, Attention: Connie Hall.

Tobacco Use Control Project (TUCP)

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Tobacco Use Control Project is to provide comprehensive tobacco use control, which empowers Virginia citizens to become full participants in healthy lifestyle choices.

TOBACCO USE CONTROL PROJECT (TUCP)

The Tobacco Use Control Project (TUCP) is a program within the Virginia Department of Health. Funding for this project is provided through a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health. The TUCP provides training, information, materials and other mechanisms to support the implementation of policies to help Virginians choose and maintain tobacco-free lifestyles. In its comprehensive approach to tobacco use control, the TUCP works closely with coalitions, health districts, and partnering organizations to reduce youth tobacco use, increase cessation support, increase clean indoor air and eliminate disparities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
