The Virginia Department of Health’s Tobacco Use Control Project (TUCP) has released a profile report (Tobacco Indicators by Health District, 2010)  of each local health district in Virginia. Each report features the prevalence rates of adult tobacco use, potential exposure to secondhand smoke, and chronic disease as well as the burden (i.e., hospitalization, mortality) of diseases related to smoking and other tobacco use based on the most currently available health behavior and health outcome data from the Virginia Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), state vital records, and state hospital discharge data.
