The Health Promotion for People with Disabilities (HPPD) Task Force met for the first time in March 2003. The task force has grown considerably since it first started and has accomplished writing the first Health Promotion for People with Disabilities State Plan for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The Health Promotion for People with Disabilities Task Force is comprised of consumers, caregivers, service providers, health care providers, disability- advocates, non-profit organizations, and state agencies. All of these organizations work to improve the lifestyles of people with disabilities.
The task force allows for networking, exchanging of ideas, and working towards common goals between organizations.
If you or someone you know is interested in finding out more about the HPPD Task Force, they can call the Health Promotion for People with Disabilities Project (804) 864-7877.
