The Health Promotion for People with Disabilities (HPPD) Project has worked with community partners to improve the lifestyles of people with disabilities by providing assistance and support with many programs and events throughout the state. Recreational, social, and community activities are part of a healthy lifestyle for every Virginian. The inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of society is essential to make our communities stronger.
The mission of the Health Promotion for People with Disabilities Project is to promote the health of people with disabilities, prevent secondary conditions, and eliminate disparities between people with and without disabilities in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
HPPD has worked with local and national organizations in Virginia on recreational, education, and awareness programs. Many of these organizations have joined the HPPD Task Force and work with the HPPD Project to achieve common goals.
