Virginia Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Project
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) fund the Virginia Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Project (HDSP) to implement heart disease and stroke prevention and control initiatives through systems change, environmental and policy support, application of a state HDSP strategic action plan, expansion of a state HDSP Coalition, defining the burden of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) in Virginia, and working to reduce racial and ethnic disparities related to CVD.

The American Stroke Association - The American Stroke Association offers a wide array of programs, products and services, from patient education materials to scientific statements.
CDC Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention -The CDC Division dedicated to providing public health leadership to improve cardiovascular health for all, reduce the burden, and eliminate disparities associated with heart disease and stroke.

The NHLBI Information Center - Supports and disseminates materials for the National High Blood Pressure Education Program, the National Cholesterol Education Program, the National Heart Attack Alert Program, and others. Public and patient education materials and clinical practice guidelines for health professionals are available on numerous topics.
The National Cholesterol Education Program - The NHLBI launched the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) in November 1985. The goal of the NCEP is to contribute to reducing illness and death from coronary heart disease (CHD) in the United States by reducing the percent of Americans with high blood cholesterol.
The National High Blood Pressure Education Program (NHBPEP) - The NHBPEP is administered and coordinated by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). The goal of the NHBPEP is to reduce death and disability related to high blood pressure through programs of professional, patient, and public education.
