Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) - www.cdc.gov/brfss
BRFSS, the world’s largest telephone survey, tracks health risks in the United States. For 25 years, CDC’s BRFSS has helped states survey U.S. adults to gather information about a wide range of behaviors that affect their health. The primary focus of these surveys has been on behaviors and conditions that are linked with the leading causes of death—heart disease, cancer, stroke, diabetes, and injury—and other important health issues. Site provides state and national statistics on the prevalence and awareness of not eating enough fruits and vegetables, being overweight, using tobacco and alcohol, not wearing seat belts and more. Virginia’s data is located at www.vahealth.org/brfss
