Early detection is key when it comes to breast and cervical cancer. That’s why I wanted to let you know about Every Woman’s Life.

In 2008, breast cancer claimed the lives of  310 women in Virginia. Early detection is the key to survival. In fact, when breast cancer is diagnosed early, the survival rate is 98%.

Every Woman’s Life offers free mammograms and Pap tests to uninsured Virginia women from 40 to 64 years old. Women ages 18-39 also qualify for these screening services if they have breast lumps or have recently had an abnormal Pap.

Please visit http://www.vahealth.org/breastcancer/ or call 1-866-395-4968 to see if you are eligible for these services.
