Services

BabyCare provides:

• case management of medical services and other community services;
• nutrition counseling for the mother;
• nutritional assessment of the infant;
• smoking cessation classes;
• prenatal care education;
• child development education; and
• homemaker services (if the mother is placed on restricted activities or bed rest by her doctor).

The program is free to eligible women and infants.

For more information or to make a referral, contact your local health department (www.vdh.state.va.us/lhd/02.htm) and ask to speak to the "BabyCare nurse."
